About Nordstromia japonica Moore, 1877

Nordstromia japonica is a moth species that belongs to the subfamily Drepaninae. It can be found in Japan, and in the Hunan and Sichuan regions of China. The wingspan of adult Nordstromia japonica ranges from 25 to 37 millimeters. Adults have a pale vinous lavender grey base color, with two narrow, obliquely positioned transverse yellow bands bordered in brown present on both wings. The outer band runs from the apex of the forewing to the middle of the abdominal margin, while the inner band runs from the middle of the costa to one-third of the abdominal margin. The costal edge and apex of the forewings are ochreous yellow. A slight curved brown streak appears on the forewings, and a small spot is located at the end of the cell on the hindwings.
