Nolana paradoxa, commonly called the Chilean bellflower, is a flowering plant species belonging to the Solanaceae family. It is native to central and southern Chile. This plant is a spreading, half-hardy annual that grows to 9 inches (23 cm) tall. It needs full sun to grow, and is useful as an edging plant or ground cover. There is a known cultivar of this species called 'Blue Bird'. Nolana paradoxa is used as a model system for scientific research focused on flower color.
