About Nodilittorina pyramidalis (Quoy & Gaimard, 1833)

Nodilittorina pyramidalis, commonly called the pyramid periwinkle, is a small species. Its length ranges from under 1 cm to 2.5 cm. The snail has a pale grey body, with two rows of pale buff nodules on its central whorl. This species lives on or above the high tide line, and usually clings to vertical surfaces. Multiple individuals often cluster together in crevices to retain moisture. Pyramid periwinkles are endemic to Australia, and occur in abundant populations along both the country's east and west coasts.
