Nipponocypris temminckii, commonly known as the dark chub, is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish. It is classified in the family Xenocyprididae, which is the group of East Asian minnows also called sharpbellies. This species is found in China, Japan, and Korea. It reaches a maximum total length of 15.0 centimetres, which equals 5.9 inches.
