Nipponocypris koreanus (Kim, Oh & Hosoya, 2005) is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish. It is called chamgalgyeoni locally, and its common English name is the dark chub. It is classified in the family Xenocyprididae, which is the family of East Asian minnows, also called sharpbellies. This species inhabits South Korea. It reaches a maximum published total length of 22.1 centimetres (8.7 inches), and a maximum published weight of 51.02 grams (1.800 ounces).
