Nigella ciliaris DC., commonly known as pinwheel nigella or ciliate love-in-a-mist, is a species of flowering plant belonging to the family Ranunculaceae. It is native to Cyprus and the Levant. It is a therophytic annual that grows to between 25 and 35 cm (10 to 14 inches) tall, and it is typically found growing in garrigue habitats. It is occasionally cultivated for its pinwheel-shaped yellow flowers, as well as its striking, long-lasting seedheads.
