Nicrophorus marginatus, commonly called the margined sexton beetle, margined burying beetle, or red and black burying beetle, is a species of burying beetle first described by Johan Christian Fabricius in 1801. Adult Nicrophorus marginatus measure between 12 and 28 millimetres (0.47 to 1.10 inches) in length. Their bodies are shiny black, with red-orange bands on their elytra and red-orange clubs on their antennae.
