Neurobathra strigifinitella is a moth species that belongs to the family Gracillariidae. This species has been recorded in Québec, Canada, and in multiple U.S. states: Pennsylvania, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Missouri, New York, Texas, Virginia, Kentucky, and West Virginia. The larvae of Neurobathra strigifinitella feed on plants from several genera: they consume Castanea species including Castanea dentata, Castanea pumila, and Castanea sativa, as well as Castanopsis, Fagus species including Fagus grandifolia, and Quercus species including Quercus nigra, Quercus prinoides, Quercus rubra, and Quercus virginiana. Larvae create mines inside the leaves of their host plants. These mines are typically located under the edge of a folded-down leaf.
