Neripteron violaceum (Gmelin, 1791) is a species of brackish water snail. It is an aquatic gastropod mollusk that belongs to the family Neritidae, commonly called the nerites. Its known distribution includes the following locations: in India, it is found in the Andaman Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal; it also occurs in Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Timor, New Caledonia, Samoa, Fiji, Australia, the Philippines, and Japan. This species is traded as an ornamental pet for freshwater aquaria.
