About Nepheronia buquetii (Boisduval, 1836)

Nepheronia buquetii, commonly known as the plain vagrant, Buquet's vagrant, or the green-eyed monster, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Pieridae. This butterfly is found across the whole of Africa. Males of the species have a wingspan ranging from 45 to 50 millimeters, while females have a wingspan ranging from 48 to 56 millimeters. Adult Nepheronia buquetii are active and can be found flying year-round, though they are more commonly encountered during the winter months. The larvae of this butterfly feed on Azima tetracantha and Salvadora persica.
