About Nephele hespera Fabricius, 1775

The head, thorax, and abdomen of this species are olive brown or green. The abdomen has black lateral segmental bands. Forewings are olive brown or green, with six faint waved lines and an angled submarginal line. The area between this submarginal line and the outer margin of the forewing is paler. At the end of the forewing cell, there are two conspicuous silvery-white spots; these spots may be reduced to a small speck or disappear entirely. Hindwings are reddish brown, and their cilia are ochreous. The ventral side of the moth is paler, and each wing has two transverse lines. The larva is greenish, with a pale stripe running from the 7th to the 11th somites. This species occurs in the tropical and subtropical forests of Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Myanmar, southern China, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
