About Neotragus moschatus (Von Dueben, 1846)
The suni, scientifically named Neotragus moschatus (Von Dueben, 1846), is a small antelope. It is larger than the other two species classified in its same genus. In terms of cranial measurements, the suni resembles Bates's pygmy antelope. At the shoulder, the suni stands between 33 and 38 centimetres, which equals 13 to 15 inches. Its typical total head-and-body length ranges from 57 to 62 centimetres, or 22 to 24 inches. Individuals of both sexes weigh between 4.5 and 7 kg, which is 9 pounds 15 ounces to 15 pounds 7 ounces. Only male suni have horns, and sexual dimorphism is less pronounced in the suni than it is in Bates's pygmy antelope.
