About Neopreptos marathusa Druce, 1886

Neopreptos marathusa is a species of moth belonging to the family Eupterotidae. It was first described by Herbert Druce in 1886, and it can be found in Costa Rica. Males of this species have a wingspan of approximately 64 mm, while females have a wingspan of around 83 mm. For males, both the forewings and hindwings are dark reddish brown, with the lightest coloration occurring near the base of the forewings. A slightly greyish transverse line runs across the male forewing from the costal margin to the anal angle. Between this line and the outer margin of the forewing, there are several faint, obscure dark markings. Male hindwings are noticeably darker than the forewings. Females of Neopreptos marathusa have uniform pale brown coloration on both their forewings and hindwings.
