About Neogaerrhinum strictum (Hook. & Arn.) Rothm.
Neogaerrhinum strictum (Hook. & Arn.) Rothm. is a thin, sprawling annual herb. It sometimes grows in a vine-like form, climbing on nearby objects or other plants. Its inflorescence is made up of a single flower held on a very long, strongly coiling pedicel that can reach up to 9 centimeters in length. The flower at the end of the pedicel is a dark-veined purple snapdragon that is more than one centimeter wide. It produces a dehiscent capsule fruit that holds many bumpy seeds. This species is native to California and northwestern Mexico. It occurs in coastal hills and mountain ranges, growing in a wide range of local plant communities, particularly in areas that have recently burned.
