About Neocerura liturata (Walker, 1855)
Neocerura liturata (Walker, 1855) is a moth species that is primarily pure white in base color. Its palpi are solid black, while the collar and thorax are marked with distinct black spots. The abdomen can either be marked with black bands or be completely suffused with black pigment, which leaves a distinct white patch bearing a black semicircular mark on the final abdominal segment. On the forewings, there are two waved sub-basal lines running from the costa to the median nervure, alongside several black spots positioned below the median nervure. A prominently waved antemedial band, three waved postmedial lines, and one waved medial line are all present on the forewings. A black line located on the discocellulars is surrounded by a black ring mark. Hindwings are more or less suffused with fuscous pigment, and feature two indistinct medial lines and a series of small black spots along the wing margin. The larvae of this species feed on plant species from the family Flacourtiaceae, as well as species in the genera Populus and Terminalia.
