About Neocarya macrophylla (Sabine) Prance ex F.White

Neocarya is a plant genus in the family Chrysobalanaceae that was first described as a genus in 1976. This genus contains only one known accepted species: Neocarya macrophylla (Sabine) Prance ex F.White. This species is native to western and central Africa, ranging from Senegal to Nigeria, and is also found in South Sudan. It has the common English name Gingerbread Plum, even though it is not related to true plums of the genus Prunus.
