About Nemorimyza posticata (Meigen, 1830)

Nemoriimyza posticata (Meigen, 1830) has the following morphological characteristics. Its interocular space is matte black, the lunule is soft black, and both the antennae and palps are black. The mesonotum is brilliant black. Acrostichal bristles are sparse and arranged in 7 to 8 rows. The legs are brownish black, and all knees are yellow. The haltere knob is whitish yellow. For female individuals, the abdomen is black except that the two last segments are clear brown. For male individuals, the base of the abdomen is more or less dark, and the remaining part of the abdomen is yellow. The total body length of this species ranges from 2.5 to 3 mm. In its life cycle, the larval stage mines leaves of plants from the genera Solidago, Aster, Baccharis, and Erechtites.
