About Nemacladus ramosissimus Nutt.

Nemacladus ramosissimus Nutt. is a species of flowering plant in the bellflower family, commonly called smallflower threadplant. It is native to the mountains and deserts of the southern half of California, as well as adjacent parts of Baja California. This species is a small annual herb that grows a thin, thread-like, erect brown or purplish stem, reaching up to roughly 32 centimeters in height. Lobed oval leaves, each under 2 centimeters long, grow at the base of the plant. Its inflorescence consists of a series of branches that bear occasional flowers on thin, curving pedicels. A single small bract grows at the base of each pedicel. Each flower is no longer than 2 millimeters, with five white lobes that are fused together along their lower half.
