About Nassarius albescens (Dunker, 1846)

This species, Nassarius albescens (Dunker, 1846), has a shell with a total length that ranges between 9 mm and 25 mm. The surface sculpture of the shell has a distinctive fine network of evenly spaced nodules. The columella can be either narrow or wide. The entire shell is creamy white in overall color, while the aperture is brown. This species is distributed across two ocean basins: in the Indian Ocean it is found off the coast of Madagascar, and in the Pacific Ocean it occurs off the coasts of the Philippines and Australia, with its distribution also extending as far north as Japan.
