About Mythimna decisissima Walker, 1865
Mythimna decisissima Walker, 1865 has a wingspan of approximately 31 millimeters. For male individuals of this species, the head, thorax, and abdomen are reddish ochreous, while the abdomen is suffused with fuscous coloring. A prominent, short, white L-shaped mark or streak is visible on the forewing's median nervure. Males also have large patches of metallic scales on the underside of their wings, and large paired tufts of black hairs on the basal segment of the abdomen on its underside. A pale oblique fascia extends from the wing apex, outlined by dark suffusion. Three series of black specks occur: antemedial, postmedial, and marginal. The antemedial and postmedial series are curved, and the antemedial series is obsolescent. Hindwings are ochreous and suffused with fuscous, particularly on the outer area. On the underside, the disk of the forewing and the entire hindwing (excluding the costa and inner margin) are covered in golden silvery scales, and a postmedial black spot sits on the costa of the forewing. Female individuals have more extensive fuscous suffusion on the forewing, especially in the cell and on both sides of the apical streak. Females lack silvery scaled areas on the underside of their wings. Their hindwings have a black cell-spot and a postmedial series of specks.
