Mussaenda pubescens Dryand. is a member of Rubiaceae, the coffee plant family, and it is found in Indonesia. It grows wild on hillsides and in shrub areas, and it is also commonly cultivated as an ornamental plant. Among Sumatran Malays, the species is called daun putri or nusa indah, though the name nusa indah is also used for other plant species. Its twigs, leaves, and roots are used for medicinal purposes.
