About Musotima nitidalis (Walker)

Larvae of Musotima nitidalis are pale green with transparent skin and a dark head. Adult moths are brown, with various black-outlined white markings on each forewing. This species is found in New Zealand, most of Australia (including Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia), and southern England extending to Norfolk. It was first recorded in Dorset at Merritown Heath, Hurn in 2009. It is suspected to have been introduced to this region via imported tree ferns.
