About Muscari neglectum Guss. ex Ten.
Muscari neglectum Guss. ex Ten. is a bulb-growing herbaceous plant. Its flower stems reach 5–20 cm (2.0–7.9 in) in height, and flowers are arranged in a spike or raceme that is 2–6 cm (0.8–2.4 in) long. Individual flowers are dark blue with white lobes (teeth) at their tips, and a cluster of paler sterile flowers may grow at the top of the spike. The fruit is a 3-celled capsule that holds two ovules per cell. This species is very well known in cultivation, and Brian Mathew described it as the "common" grape hyacinth. It increases rapidly and can become invasive. The native range of Muscari neglectum extends around the Mediterranean basin, including North Africa, Southern Europe, and Western Asia, and also reaches Central Europe, Ukraine, European Russia, the Caucasus, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Central Asia.
