Muehlenbeckia platyclada (F.Muell.) Meisn. is an evergreen shrub with spreading and climbing growth habits. It has flattened, jointed green stems, with dark green alternately arranged leaves that are elongated, flattened, and arrow-shaped. The shrub produces tiny white to light pink flowers that are short-lived and compact. It blooms from early to late spring. At maturity, it reaches 2 to 4 feet in height and 1.5 to 3 feet in width. It grows best in moist, well-drained soil located in full sun, and also grows well in sandy loam to clayey soils with a pH between 5.5 and 6. It can tolerate some shade, heat, and humidity.
