About Mooreana trichoneura (C.Felder & R.Felder, 1860)
This butterfly species, commonly called the yellow flat, has the scientific name Mooreana trichoneura (C.Felder & R.Felder, 1860). On its upper wing surface, the overall color is dark brown. The outer half of its forewing holds multiple white, glass-like hyaline spots and strokes. Its hindwing features a row of black wedge-shaped discal spots, plus a yellow tornal area. The underside of the hindwing is mostly yellowish white. The yellow flat has a wide distribution across southern and southeastern Asia: its range extends from India through Thailand to Malaysia, and it can also be found in the Philippines. It was first recorded in Singapore in 2012. This species typically inhabits lowland forests at elevations up to 833 m (2500 ft).
