About Monstera lechleriana Schott
Monstera lechleriana is a flowering plant species that belongs to the genus Monstera in the arum plant family, Araceae. It is native to Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela. This species is named after German botanist Willibald Lechler, who collected the original type specimen of the plant in 1854. Heinrich Wilhelm Schott scientifically described this species by 1860. Like all other Monstera species, Monstera lechleriana is an epiphytic climbing vine. It grows on the lower trunks of trees, and when mature it produces large leaves with perforations on each side of the leaf midrib.
