Monarda clinopodioides, commonly called basil beebalm, is a plant species native to Kansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas. It is an annual herb that can grow taller than 30 cm, or 12 inches. Its leaves range from lanceolate to oblong in shape, tapering at both ends, and have small hairs and small teeth. Its pink or purple flowers grow in small clumped clusters called glomerules, accompanied by green bracts. These flower clusters form in the axils of the plant's upper leaves.
