The bilateral flowers have white corollas with dark spots, and the corolla measures 1.5 to 3 cm long. Flowering occurs from late June to early September. This plant grows naturally in moist woods, thickets, ravines, and stream banks, and it may also grow along roadsides. It attracts bees, bumblebees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.
