Mocis alterna, commonly known as the bean looper, is a species of moth belonging to the family Erebidae. This species was first formally described by Francis Walker in 1858. It is found only in Queensland, an Australian state. The wingspan of Mocis alterna is roughly 30 millimetres, which equals 1.2 inches. Its larvae feed on plants from the genus Phaseolus, as well as on Medicago sativa and Glycine max.
