About Mitracarpus hirtus (L.) DC.

Mitracarpus hirtus, commonly known as tropical girdlepod, is an annual herb species belonging to the Rubiaceae family. It is native to Mexico and most of tropical America, but has been widely introduced to Africa, Asia, and other tropical regions around the world. This species usually grows in seasonally dry tropical biomes, and can be identified by its small, white, funnel-shaped flowers that grow in leaf axils.
