About Misogada unicolor Packard, 1864

Misogada is a monotypic moth genus (meaning it contains only one species) in the family Notodontidae. It was erected by Francis Walker in 1865. Its single species is Misogada unicolor, commonly called the drab prominent. This species was first described by Alpheus Spring Packard in 1864. Misogada unicolor is found in North America, ranging from Nova Scotia south to Florida, west to Texas, and north to Saskatchewan. The wingspan of this moth is approximately 45 millimeters. This species has two to three generations each year. Its larvae feed on plants from Populus sect. Aigeiros and species from the Platanus genus.
