About Miscanthus nepalensis (Trin.) Hack.

Miscanthus nepalensis, commonly known as Himalayan fairy grass, is a species of flowering plant in the grass family Poaceae. It is native to mountain slopes in China (Sichuan, Xizang, Yunnan), Bhutan, India, Myanmar and Nepal, and has been introduced to Malaysia. It occurs at elevations between 1,900 m and 2,800 m (6,200 ft to 9,200 ft). This decorative deciduous grass grows to 1 m (3.3 ft) tall, and has arching green blades that often turn bronze in winter. Terminal clusters of yellow spikelets emerge in summer, and develop into seed-heads in autumn. It is cultivated as an ornamental plant for temperate gardens, and requires a sunny growing position.
