About Mirificarma eburnella (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775
Mirificarma eburnella is a moth species belonging to the family Gelechiidae. Its natural range spans western, central, and southern Europe, extending east into Russia and south into North Africa and the Middle East. It is also found in California, United States, where it is thought to be an introduced species. Males of this species have a wingspan of 5 to 7.5 millimeters, while females have a slightly larger average wingspan of 5.5 to 7.5 millimeters. The head of the adult moth is cream in color. In Europe, adult Mirificarma eburnella have been collected between March and July; in North America, adults have been recorded in May and June. The larvae of Mirificarma eburnella feed on a range of leguminous plants: Medicago sativa, Medicago lupulina, Medicago polymorpha, Trifolium repens, Trifolium hirtum, Vicia americana, and Hippocrepis comosa. Larvae of this species have been found during April and May.
