About Minoa murinata (Scopoli, 1763)
Minoa murinata, commonly known as the drab looper, is a moth species belonging to the family Geometridae. This species was first described by Giovanni Antonio Scopoli in his 1763 work Entomologia Carniolica, under the binomial name Minoa murinata (Scopoli, 1763). It is distributed across southern and central Europe, Great Britain, Anatolia, the Caucasus, as well as the mountain regions of central Asia and Mongolia. The species has a wingspan of 14–18 mm, while the forewings measure 9–11 mm in length. Adult moths fly from June to August, with flight timing varying by location. The larvae of Minoa murinata feed on cypress spurge and wood spurge.
