About Mimusops zeyheri Sond.

Mimusops zeyheri Sond. has leathery leaves with entire margins. Short rusty red hairs cover the petioles and young leaves. Small amounts of latex can be observed when leaves or petioles are bruised. Clusters of fragrant white flowers bloom from October to January. Ripe fruits are yellow, with glossy, brittle skin; these fruits are sweet, edible, have a floury texture, and are slightly astringent. Its wood is reddish-brown, hard, and tough, and it was traditionally used to make wagons.
