About Mimusops coriacea (A.DC.) Miq.
Mimusops coriacea (A.DC.) Miq. is a tropical evergreen fruit-bearing shrub that can reach up to 6 metres (20 ft) in height. Its main trunk can grow to 30 centimetres (12 inches) in diameter. The species produces round, bright yellow edible fruits that are typically 6-8 centimetres (2-3 inches) wide. This plant grows naturally in Madagascar and the Comoros, where it can occasionally be found growing on sand dunes and beaches. It is also cultivated as an ornamental in botanical gardens.
