Mimophis mahfalensis, first formally described by Grandidier in 1867, can reach a total length of 76 cm (30 inches), 19.5 cm (7.7 inches) of which is the tail. Its preferred natural habitats are forest, savanna, and shrubland. It has also been observed living in disturbed and artificial habitats. This species reproduces via oviparity, meaning it lays eggs.
