Milesia virginiensis, commonly known as the yellowjacket hover fly or Virginia flower fly, is a species of hoverfly belonging to the family Syrphidae. Adults of this species reach a body length of 18–21 millimetres (0.71–0.83 inches). This hoverfly inhabits forest edges and meadows. Its adult stage is active from mid-summer to early fall. Its known distribution includes the United States, the province of Ontario in Canada, and Mexico.
