About Microsorum scolopendria (Burm.fil.) Copel.

Microsorum scolopendria (Burm.fil.) Copel., which has the synonym Phymatosorus scolopendria, is a fern species in the family Polypodiaceae. It is commonly known by several names: monarch fern, musk fern, maile-scented fern, breadfruit fern, and wart fern. In the wild, this fern grows along the Western Pacific rim, ranging from Australia through New Caledonia and Fiji, and extends across the entire South Pacific to French Polynesia. The scientific name M. scolopendria has been incorrectly used to refer to Microsorum grossum, including the synonyms of both species that are placed in the genus Phymatosorus.
