About Microseris nutans (Hook.) Sch.Bip.

Microseris nutans (Hook.) Sch.Bip. is a variable perennial herb that typically grows up to 70 centimeters tall, and has a branching stem. It produces plentiful leaves that reach up to 30 centimeters in length, and their edges are generally toothed or lobed. Its somewhat hairy inflorescence grows on an upright peduncle. The flower head, which is often nodding, holds up to 50 yellow ray florets. Its fruit is an achene with a brownish or reddish body a few millimeters long. At the tip of the achene body sits a large pappus formed from 15 to 30 silvery, hairy scales.
