About Microphysogobio alticorpus Bănărescu & Nalbant, 1968

Microphysogobio alticorpus, commonly called the highbody longnose gudgeon, is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish in the gudgeon family Gobionidae. This small, bottom-dwelling fish has a maximum published standard length of 6.3 cm (2.5 in), and is endemic to Taiwan. It occurs in the western portion of the island, where it lives in well-oxygenated, fast-flowing sections of the lower and middle reaches of rivers, ranging from the Taan River to the Kaoping River. It forms schools, and feeds on insects and benthic diatoms.
