Micronycteris microtis is a small species of bat. Individual bats of this species weigh between 3.4 and 9.1 grams (0.12 to 0.32 ounces). Their forearm length ranges from 32 to 38 millimeters (1.3 to 1.5 inches). Their ears are large and rounded, measuring 18 to 23 millimeters (0.71 to 0.91 inches) in length. The ears of this bat are connected by an inter-auricular membrane. The species has brown fur, with geographic variation in the shade of the brown. It has a dental formula of 2.1.2.3/2.1.3.3, giving it a total of 34 teeth. This bat can be found in Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and Venezuela.
