About Microlophus indefatigabilis (Baur, 1890)

Members of this species can be identified by their brown base body color, marked with scattered black and white blotches. They also have a distinctive red and black throat and a black chest. Females of this species have a more uniformly brown body, a bright orange face, and a black marking at shoulder level. This species can shed its tail without suffering mortal injury. This species is endemic to Santa Cruz Island. It inhabits volcanic rock areas, dry shrublands, dry grasslands, deciduous forests, and urban areas, and prefers shaded locations.
