Microchrysa polita (Linnaeus, 1758) is a small species, with a body length ranging from 4.5 to 5.5 mm. It has black antennae, and its legs are predominantly black. In males, the pubescence on the middle part of the mesonotum and on the abdomen is black. This species is distributed across Russia, Siberia, Central Asia, Mongolia, Western Europe, the United States, and Canada.
