About Microblepsis leucosticta (Hampson, 1895)

Microblepsis leucosticta is a species of moth belonging to the Drepanidae family. It was first formally described by George Hampson in 1895. This moth can be found in the north-eastern Himalayas, southern China, as well as on Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, and Borneo. The wingspan of adult Microblepsis leucosticta measures approximately 28 mm. Adult individuals are dark purplish grey in base color. Their forewings feature a white postmedial line that bends below the costa and extends into a large white patch on the apical region. The veins located between this line and the wing cell are marked with white streaks, and there are also slender submarginal and marginal lines on the forewings. The hindwings have two medial white lines, plus two indistinct fine white lines positioned close to the margin.
