Metalasia erubescens DC. is a flowering subshrub belonging to the Asteraceae family. This species is endemic to South Africa’s Western Cape. Its distribution within the region spans from Elgin to Caledon, and it also grows in the Swartberg Mountains and at Cape Agulhas. It can be found growing at elevations ranging from sea level up to slopes at 1000 m, and it is a component of the fynbos vegetation type.
