About Metalasia aurea D.Don

Metalasia aurea is a flowering semi-shrub belonging to the Asteraceae plant family. This species is endemic to the Eastern Cape and Western Cape regions. Its main distribution spans the Kouga Mountains, extending eastwards to Gqeberha. Populations can also be found in the Witteberg Mountains near Laingsburg, and at Cape Infanta. Metalasia aurea grows on mountain slopes at elevations from 0 to 1000 metres, where it forms a component of fynbos vegetation.
