About Mertensia oblongifolia (Nutt.) G.Don
Mertensia oblongifolia is a perennial herb that grows multiple erect stems from a thick, branching caudex, and reaches a maximum height of nearly 40 centimeters. Its leaves, which range from oval to lance-shaped, grow all along the length of the stems. Its inflorescence is a dense, sometimes crowded cluster of hanging blue tubular flowers that have expanded, bell-shaped openings. Each flower is between 1 and 2 centimeters long.
