Mentzelia albicaulis (Douglas ex Hook.) Douglas ex Torr. & A.Gray is an annual herb. It produces a stem that can grow up to 42 centimeters long, and it sometimes grows in an upright form. The leaves in its basal rosette reach up to 11 centimeters long, and are divided into evenly spaced comblike lobes; leaves are smaller on upper sections of the plant. Its flowers have five shiny yellow petals, each measuring 2 to 7 millimeters long. The fruit is a narrow utricle that can be straight or curved, and is 1 to 3 centimeters long. This fruit holds many angular seeds, each covered in tiny bumps.
