Melopyrrha nigra taylori E.Hartert, 1896 is a subspecies of the Cuban bullfinch, Melopyrrha nigra. The Cuban bullfinch is a songbird species in the genus Melopyrrha. It is part of the tanager family Thraupidae, and falls into the subfamily Coerebinae, a group that also includes Darwin's finches. The Cuban bullfinch is an endemic species that occurs only in Cuba. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, subtropical or tropical moist montane forest, and heavily degraded former forest. The IUCN has categorized the Cuban bullfinch as a near threatened species.
